Witcher Season 2 Episode 4 Analysis: Redanian Intelligence

𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦: 𝘞𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘥 𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦 𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘛𝘝 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴. 𝘞𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘥𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦.  

In this episode with Bundin and Manny (check out his music below!), we see Dijkstra sending an elven spy into Cintra, none other than Dara. Triss visits Kaer Mohren, where she is quickly rejected by Geralt romantically but enlisted to help train Ciri. She helps uncover both Ciri's monolith-toppling power and her Elder Blood.  

Meanwhile, in Gors Velen, Yen and Cahir are on the run, with an emotionally evocative encounter in the sewer and a surprising reunion with a newly matured bard, Jaskier, now acting as a rescuing Sandpiper. He is not mature enough, however, to avoid an altercation with the dock guard, and an act of redemption saves them all. But the lute crash at the end lets us know that not all is clear...
