Purple Hyacinth 92: Brainy Birds (with Fwoot and Nef)

We open up with a devastating image of Kieran awakening in the church, a snowflake landing on his face. He is thoroughly beaten, and has clearly passed out. But instead of the reaction you might expect, he laughs. He laughs and makes an enigmatic statement whose meaning we speculate over.

We then turn to the precinct office, where Lauren declines to sign up for security at Redcliff's ball in order to infiltrate in more traditional methods. That investigative line of thinking has her communicating with Kieran, when she also notices unusual behavior on his part. Learning that his apartment is unavailable, Lauren suggests the cave, a testament to her willingness to put aside emotions to focus on the mission. Kieran is perturbed, and we discuss possible reasons, all of which may make you cry.

Next, we transition to Kym and Will investigating the Carmine Camelia. Shortly thereafter, they are in a cafe, where Kym has adopted the persona of a cigar smoking, sunglasses toting detective. There are some dramatics with Kym and a certain philanderer, but the final shock of the episode comes when Kym displays some strong deductive skills of her own...
