Sam and Marshall (or Ariadne and Dion) are in Sam's beautiful world, waiting for the dragon egg to hatch. Marshall notices that Sam seems upset, and Sam tells him about her concerns about Charles and his rules.  

She gets upset, and Marshall knocks at her porch door in real life. Sam reveals that she likes Charles when they are alone, but not when they are in public and he is evaluating her. Marshall helpfully asks if she's told Charles how she feels, but Sam is too fearful.
